Economic Development and Family-Supporting Jobs

 

Frederick County’s economy is one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic in the region. From major pharmaceutical companies and advanced manufacturers to main street small businesses, we have it all. I work every day to create jobs, support employers big and small, and help people build careers that provide for their families. 

What I Have Done

  • Championed long-overdue investments in US-15 to support our regional economy and protect our residents

  • Created a permitting ombudsman and small business navigator to help businesses thrive

  • Invested in Agricultural Innovation Grants to support agribusinesses and local farms

  • Expanded childcare scholarships to help working families make ends meet

  • Reinvigorated the Business & Industry Cabinet to advise on workforce and economic issues

What I Will Do

  • Continue to fight for US-15 funding and expanded MARC service

  • Implement our recently-released Career and Technical Education Master Plan

  • Expand programs for minority and women owned businesses to access funding and training

  • Support workforce training programs that prepare residents for high-demand careers

  • Identify opportunities to use County-owned land and facilities for childcare programs
