Safe Communities
Keeping our community safe is one of my top priorities. I know that residents and first responders face daily challenges, and they deserve strong support, clear policies, and the resources to succeed. Every family should feel secure in their neighborhoods, and every officer, firefighter, and emergency worker should have the tools they need to do their jobs well.
What I Have Done
Increased salaries, improved benefits, and increased staffing for first responders
Built and expanded fire stations to meet the needs of growing communities
Supported the development of the County’s first 24/7 crisis stabilization center
Expanded programs addressing domestic violence and human trafficking
Fought against the 287(g) program so that every resident can feel safe in our community
What I Will Do
Build the Frederick County Family Justice Center to support those who have experienced abuse
Continue to invest in crisis diversion and intervention programs
Invest in our first responders so they have the best training and equipment to do their jobs
Continue to implement the recommendations of the Captain Joshua Laird Line of Duty Death After Action Report
Strengthen partnerships with community organizations to prevent crime and support victims
